About Me

I am an assistant professor in the John B. and Lillian E. Neff Department of Finance at The University of Toledo. I joined the department in the fall of 2018 after graduating from The University of Alabama with a PhD in finance. As an undergraduate, I attended the University of Montevallo, a public liberal arts college in Alabama, where I majored in mathematics and finance.

My research interests are in the broad areas of investments, institutions, and derivatives markets. My teaching interests are closely aligned with my research work. I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses in investments and risk management. Quantitative and programming skills are becoming a ubiquitous requirement in many finance careers, so I try to widely incorporate programming in R throughout my investments courses to emphasize the technical aspects of implementing various concepts taught in the class.
